Great food at great prices. Good service. Wine bar in the middle of the butcher's shop. Nice neighborhood. My favorite spot this stay.

Absurdly good food influenced by southern cooking, yet as sophisticated in its menu as the best restaurants around the world. While Cochon is the sit-down dining, Cochon Butcher is just as proficient in providing amazing food in a simple setting.

James Beard Award recipients Donald Link and Chef Stephen Stryjewski are the co-owners of the pork-centric Cochon, in the Warehouse District. The menu is extensive, but also includes New Orleans specialties, like gumbo. Link’s version of which is incredible. Pick up muffaletta sandwiches from “pork to go,” with their heaping of pastrami, roast pork and mortadella lathered with sharp olive relish and smashed between two moist buns.

Cochon is one of my favorite John Besh restaurants. It specializes in pork but has a variety of other things to eat and it's all delicious. It's nice but not super dressy.
