The High Line is an elevated railroad track on the West Side of Manhattan that has been converted to a boardwalk and park. It starts at Gansevoort and ends at 30th Street. The High Line has a lovely and pleasant atmosphere with benches, lounge chairs, water fountains, artwork and gardens. It is a great place to walk around, lay out of splash around in (for you kids out there!) A newer addition to the High Line is called The Lot and resides under the bridge at 30th Street. There you can find gourmet food trucks (organized by Top Chef's Tom Colicchio) beer stands and picnic tables to enjoy the fare. They have also converted the outdoor space to host different events. This month it is an outdoor rollerskating rink! Fun!

This is the latest & coolest GREEN SPACE in the city.Located in Chelsea, the old rail line above the roads has been converted into a walkway w/ native plants & designer furniture. Locals are choosing to chill out with wine & picnic & just enjoy the green space in such a fab location.Summer "pop up" bars are spotted around here & on Chelsea Piers - it's just a fab place to be in the City in the Summer!!!

Absolutely stunning walkway from W30 to W12, with all sorts of impromptu stalls and exhibitions popping up along the way. There are several entrances from street level along the way, and a roller rink at the end. Perfect chillout place - take a book or newspaper and get comfy on one of the many benches. If you're lucky you'll grab a sunlounger, or a waterway bench where you can dip your feet!
