I'm constantly surprised how many of my peers and colleagues still haven't checked out the High Line which starts around 30th and 10th Ave and ends in the Meatpacking district at the relatively new Standard Hotel. It's a gorgeous achievement and a great walk (not too crowded if you avoid lunchtime for a run during the week). It would be a key selling point to living in NY if you were on the fence about it.http://www.thehighline.org/

A very creative and well executed conversion of an unappreciated public space. The idea of transforming unused railway tracks into a beautiful, elevated park that attracts people by offering them unique views of the city is brilliant.

Exceptional urban design and reuse of old infrastructure.

A fantastic park on former train tracks above the meat packing district, the High Line has a magical quality to it. I was there at night and only had a little time to see the assortment of trees, grasses and shrubs there but even then it was a great experience. We went after a fantastic meal at the nearby Spice Market.

Wonderful, elevated urban park on the West Side of Manhattan with access to west Chelsea and the Meatpacking district. Great views of the city and Hudson River.

It's an amazing feeling to walk for 20 blocks not worrying about traffic. Take in some art and enjoy the plants and flowers. We loved it so much we made sure to walk it every day even though it wasn't close to where we were staying.

What a great way to spend the morning. Such a great use of a part of New York history. Start and finish in the Meat Packing District where you can have a bite to eat and do some great shopping too!

A fascinating modern "industrial' Park that shows how NYC develops and adapts to changes in a very trendy way.
