Great Mexican food and cocktails in the basement.

Good food, great atmosphere and excellent staff made the evening for us.

This restaurant is all about atmosphere even though the food is great! You reach the restaurant by going down a lot of stairs and through the busy kitchen. Upon reaching the bar and restaurant you are met by moisture and a very rough surface, you are in an old cellar and you can feel the subway as you enjoy your evening. It's very rough, but it's very rough on purpose and we loved it.

While the food is pretty good, it is the fun of walking into a small tacqueria and being led down through the basement kitchen into the lower level restaurant and lounge that really makes this place interesting. You feel like you've found a secret spot. Of course nowadays it isn't quite so secret, but still, you can't make a reservation on Open Table. It's a great choice to bring someone from out of town and to watch what is still a very attractive clientele. Also, try the white sangria.
