Velib bicycles are a great Parisian innovation. They are public bicycles dotted all over the city that you can by a pass for 1 Euro a day and swipe & go. Effectively you can pick up a bike at one of the 750 bike stands all over the city, ride the streets and bikes ways all over central Paris and drop it off where ever & whenever you like. You can ride from the Champs Elyesse over to the Eiffel Tower, then to the Marais, drop it off, have lunch wander the streets and pick up another and continue your exploration of Paris. You cover much more ground, see a different side of Paris and have a whole bunch of unexpected fun.
Puedes ver mucho mas sin cansarte y sin perderte de toda la vista como sería andar en metro, puedes ir comprando cosas y ponerlas en la canasta de la bici.
Paris has a great bike rental system. Sign up on line to get a subscriber number, then go pick up a bike and ride. They are free for the first 30 minutes and there are hundreds of places to pick them up and drop them off. The bikes are sturdy and easy to operate and they make getting around the city really easy.
