Over a period of 300 years this site was the only burial ground available to Jews in Prague. The cemetery was established in the first half of the 15th century and burials took place until 1787. Over 12 layers of graves for perhaps 100,000 people are found in this ancient place, with more than 12 000 gravestones. The famous kabala master and Rabbi Low is buried here. It opens daily except Saturday 9:00AM – 4:30PM.
