The church is the outstanding example of the baroque architecture in Prague. Designed in the early 17th century, St. Nicholas is the work of Bavarian architect K. Dienzehofer, built with the titanic statues of saints and holy men. The frescos are one of the largest ceiling frescos in Christendom (J. Kracker´s Life of St. Nicholas). W.A.Mozart played the organ in the church when he visited Prague. Three days after his death a requiem mass was served here in his memory. It opens daily 9:00AM - 4:00PM.
