The Strahov Monastery libraries are some of the Bohemian’s most beautiful bookrooms. The library in the theological and philosophical halls is over 800 years old. Almost 900,000 volumes are archived in ornate, gilded chambers decorated with carved wood and frescoes. There is one of the world’s best collections of theological texts, including many illuminated manuscripts and ancient first editions. It opens daily except Monday 9:00AM - 5:00PM.
