Renzo Piano designed this green building, which contains three museums, including an aquarium. While the admission price is a bit steep ($25) and it's often crowded, the Rainforest Dome and Water Planet Exhibit are well worth it.

Home of San Francisco's Natural History, it features natural science exhibits, from astronomy to anthropology. Exhibits include a 4 story rain forest, an alligator filled swamp, Tusher African Center, Water Planet, the Foucault Pendulum, the aquarium offers 14,000 aquatic species, including reptiles, tropical fish, sharks, penguins, and more.

The CAS is great place to take a family but get there early - the longs can be brutal and tickets to the Planetarium sell out fast. Highlights include the aquarium as well as the sections dedicated to climate change and the rain forests. It's recently been completely overhauled and the new building is stunning.

CAS is one of the biggest natural history museums in the world, but even if biology isn't your bag, come see it for world famous architect Renzo Piano's revolutionary redesign. Located in the beautiful Golden Gate Park, the museum's "green roof" will give you something to talk about for years to come.
