The healthy residents of San Francisco use this park as their playground for various fitness activities, and it's no surprise why. With stunning vistas of such classic sites as Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, it's easy to spend nearly the whole day here.

This newly restored and rehabilitated natural wetlands and dune fields are wonderful for a brisk walk and exploring the bay under the shadows of the Golden Gate Bridge. Great for flying kites and watching the windsurfers fight the bracing to stay atop the waves.

Golden Gate Park's Crissy Field has it all: walking, running, biking, swimming, windsurfing, parasailing, beaches, overlooks, tidal marshes, picnic tables, incredible Bay and City views, crabs, sea lions, and of course, driftwood. Need more? How about cafés, bookstores, and an environmental education center? You really cannot afford to miss it.
