The Michelin-starred soba (buckweat) noodle shop in the old-school neighborhood of Kagurazaka. You'll see a huge mortar from the window -- yes, of course they make the noodles on the premises. Despite the Michelin recognition the prices are reasonable (as they should be at a soba restaurant). But great food (fresh local ingredients!) for good price means the wait. They don't take reservations, so unless you go at a random hour, expect to wait. If you make it to the table, however, you're in for one of the best Japanese dining experiences.

Very tasty soba noodle and side dishes. Kagurazaka is a nice area to stall before or after dinner. You may run into Geisha!
