  2. “If you're looking for the Tokyo you see on TV with hoards of people walking by, subways packed like sardines in a tin can and bright lights, you need to go to Shibuya. Like any other city, Tokyo is just that, a city. Outside Shibuya station (regular subway, not the JR) where a statue of a dog stands, you can see the famous crossing seen in shows, movies and media that has hundreds of people flooding the street, crossing from every intersection every few minutes. All around that crossing are restaurants, shops and bright lights to your hearts content. There are many areas where filled with regular buildings, highways and homes. I just went with my fiance and he was surprised not to see crowds of people and bright lights everywhere. Tokyo has some great parks, shopping, and open spaces well incorporated into its urban center. If you're there simply for a fast-paced city, hit Shibuya, Roppongi and Akihabara, and even then you'll need to do a bit of digging to find the right pockets.”
