It’s been a while since Phuket was an undiscovered paradise — this is one of Thailand’s major tourism centers, and the secret is well and truly out. There are, however, still places on this island where it’s possible to recapture the feeling of seclusion and exclusivity that’s long since past elsewhere on Phuket.
Trisara is one such place. Surrounded by forty acres of tropical forest, above a private bay on Phuket’s relatively undeveloped northwest coast, it’s blessed with a tranquil atmosphere and a delightful feeling of remoteness. And it’s not all location. Trisara’s staff and management includes insiders from some of Thailand’s top hotels, including the nearby Amanpuri, and the concept itself shows this influence.
Here privacy and luxury are the central themes. Every pool villa is a self-contained oasis with its own infinity pool and its own spectacular view — many looking out over the panorama of the Andaman Sea. The accommodations are spacious, with oversized bedrooms, and the pool villas have sprawling teak sundecks and outdoor showers. And the look is contemporary, with clean-lined modern furniture and plasma-screen televisions.
There’s an expansive spa complex, for more thorough relaxation, and a top-notch restaurant serving seafood straight from the Andaman sea. The infinity pool sits just behind the secluded white-sand beach, and sporting offerings include tennis, golf, yachting and diving, as well as a fitness center adjacent to the spa, with views over the sea. Beyond that, it feels as though there’s nothing — not another hotel in sight, and the remote location means no interlopers. Like your own private Phuket.

Guests over the age of 12 are considered adults. Some rooms accommodate 3 or more. The "Two bedroom Ocean Front Pool Villa" room sleeps up to 2 guests. For crib/cot, must book "Ocean View Pool Suite" room or larger. For 2 adults + rollaway bed, must book "Ocean View Pool Villa" or larger. For 2 adults + 2 kids beyond crib age, must book "Two bedroom Ocean View Pool Suite" room or larger. Connecting rooms available. Can be confirmed upon reservation.
Cribs are available and may be subject to an additional fee. Roll-away beds available for an additional fee of US$125. No additional charges for kids beyond crib/roll-away.
Pool available that allows kids. Babysitting services provided by screened hotel personnel at US$10 per hour. The restaurant is kid-friendly with high chairs and a kids menu.
