Some hotels may charge extra for a rollaway bed or a crib - depending upon age. This possible extra charge is not always displayed by the hotel to appear with the list of available rates offered.

While other Istanbul hotels emphasize the city’s ties to antiquity, Witt Istanbul Suites is every inch the ultra-modern contemporary-design boutique hotel. Formerly an ad agency HQ, it’s close by to the central business district, as well as some of the best shopping, dining and nightlife in this modern quarter — and Roka, the ground-floor brasserie, ensures that the Witt gets its own share of the nightlife action.
The design is by Autoban, the local firm that’s responsible for quite a lot of the contemporary-style interiors you’ll see around town. Their look for the Witt is modernist-inspired but also lush and luxurious, space-age lines expressed in rich textures of wood and leather — and in many places they’re using their own furniture designs, thus avoiding the off-the-shelf look of too many boutique hotels.
As for the suites there are just fifteen of them, each one outfitted with apartment-style comforts, including separate living rooms and kitchens as well as standards like flat-screen entertainment centers. We’ve seen “residential” hotels before, to mixed results, but Witt is the rare exception — it’s got not just the bells and whistles but character too, enough that you could actually imagine yourself calling it home for a while.
I loved the design of this hotel- some of the choices I didn't quite get, but I certainly appreciated the strong effort that had been made and the room was huge. The continental breakfast was expansive and delicious and the staff helpful- one of my best memories was a staff member taking us to the roof just at the nighttime call to prayer. There below us, Istanbul was gorgeously illuminated, and the entreaties to prayer resounding around us made me know that I was in a completely different and wonderful place.
I also liked that there was a book and dvd library- winding down to a film after a long day out was great.
I Disliked
Prospective patrons should note that although the hotel is chill and modern, the area immediately surrounding the hotel is a bit down- at- heel. I say this because women travelers need to beware: Turkish men are incredibly aggressive, quite unpleasantly so, so it's not fun walking back after dark. Additionally, make sure that you confirm that you actually have a view- ours was blocked by a building, although we had a bit of city view off to the side. The staff, although sincere, were hampered by their faulty English, which I feel made things fall off; for example, when we asked about changing the room due to the view, we were repeatedly promised an upgrade which never materialized. Actually, the English problem turned up in each of the three hotels we stayed in in Turkey. Hotel owners should really try to engage at least one English- fluent staff member as Turkish is not a language you can even attempt to understand without training... we tried and failed.
The rooms are very large, and modern yet with a good bit of whimsy and a lot of comfort. Fantastic bathroom, very comfortable bed, enormously helpful staff. Chocolates and strawberries waiting in the room when I arrived.
The buffet breakfast was good, and features several cereals, breads, cheeses, jams (including delicious quince!), Turkish yogurt, and fruits. There are also interesting design books in English, Turkish, and German that you can borrow from their library, as well as a decent selection of recent films on DVD in case you want to stay in one afternoon. But then you'll miss out on all the great cafes, dance clubs, boutiques, hammams, and street life in the neighborhood.
I Disliked
Nothing. My cab driver had a hard time finding it on my way to check-in, but after that the hotel gives you directions in Turkish to share with cab drivers. It's in a very convenient and popular area of the new part of Istanbul, so I'm not sure why it was difficult to find.
- rooms were generously large, well designed, luminous
- great view (room 52!)
- friendly service
- convenient location
I Disliked
- poor recommendations by hotel staff (rather do your own research!)
- extra charge for fresh juices, coffee etc.

Tablet Hotels Customer Service Response:

Very warm welcome at the reception desk, good service from the concierge! Very friendly staff apart from the breakfast team (did not take care of us at all). The design and space of of the rooms is awesome. Great views on Istanbul from the rooms. Great location as well - everything is within easy reach.
I Disliked
Breakfast area is much too small (once we had to sit in the computer room for breakfast because there was no space left), range of products for breakfast could be extended. No restaurant available for lunch / dinner. Email from hotel informing us about airport transfer possibility with hotel's airport limousine service was sent after we had already arrived at the hotel.
The Tablet Hotels Meter is a running average of the ratings given to a hotel by registered Tablet Hotels users who have actually stayed at the hotel. The scores are based on responses to our feedback survey, which is sent automatically to every user after the completion of a hotel stay booked through Tablet Hotels. We receive responses every day, the scores change accordingly - in real-time.
This way we can be absolutely certain of the integrity of the rating process - on some travel websites, there is nothing preventing the General Manager from giving his own hotel a perfect score, or the concierge from across the street, posing as a dissatisfied guest, giving his competitor all zeros. You have probably seen questionable user reviews on other websites, whether flowery advertising copy written by fake guests, or vague negative attacks written anonymously. You will not see any of this on Tablet Hotels.
How does a hotel remain a Tablet Hotel?
We have selected nothing but the most unique and extraordinary properties from around the world, but circumstances at individual hotels can change quickly. Therefore it is up to our customers to inform us if one of our properties has taken a turn for the worse. The Tablet Hotels Meter works on a 20-point scale, and for a hotel to keep its place on Tablet Hotels, the magic number is 15.
This is not just an arbitrary figure; we have two years' worth of data, from past user feedback, and we have found that the hotels whose scores drop below 15 are those experiencing recurring problems, and guest detailed reports reflect the same serious concern, whether it be service, room quality, noise or something else.
The Tablet Hotels Meter will not display a score until we have had at least two customers rate the hotel. This way one person's unfortunate stay cannot carry too much weight. And once five guests have returned their verdicts, the rating becomes a more scientific measure of the opinion of the average guest. At this point, if the hotel's average overall score drops below 15, the hotel will be automatically removed from the site.
Your opinion really does count; in this case, it is the only thing keeping the hotels you visit on the site. On a more positive note, the hotels with top scores are featured in our "Tablet 10" lists. And as a side benefit, this system will encourage hotels to extend their best level of service to Tablet Hotels users - we turn every Tablet Hotels client into a reviewer!
This is a moderated forum; all hotel reviews and travel recommendations must follow the Tablet Hotels and Tablet Talk guidelines below. We will not publish a hotel review or a travel recommendation unless it is:

A personal opinion or recommendation
Hotel reviews are restricted to verified guests who booked their stays through TabletHotels.com. Likewise, travel recommendations must be based on first-hand experience. No recommendations or reviews written by owners or managers posing as guests, or by current or past employees, or second-hand hearsay from others. If your friend/cousin/neighbor has something to contribute then you should invite them to join the community so that they may share their opinions themselves.
We do not allow recommendations to be written based on incentives from property owners/management. Offering discounts or upgrades or other special treatment in exchange for reviews is very much against the rules, and any property found to be engaging in this sort of thing will be dealt with most unforgivingly.

These reviews are posted exclusively by verified guests whose stays were booked through TabletHotels.com. We do encourage our clients to express their opinions, and what makes a hotel experience great is often something subjective, a matter of personal taste. At the same time, many of the hotels we list are extreme in one dimension or another, and are bound to disappoint somebody somewhere. These reviews are an excellent way to identify a hotel's particular quirks, and thereby avoid a poor hotel-guest match. But remember: if a hotel's overall customer rating falls lower than 15 out of 20, the hotel will be removed from our listings.
The opinions expressed in these reviews are solely those of our clients; the opinions expressed in any hotel management responses are solely those of the hotels themselves. We do not endorse any of the opinions expressed within the reviews, and we are not affiliated with any of the hotels in question.
