What I liked:

I liked the tea/coffee facility in the room, the spacious shower, and the modern/user-friendly aspect of the dining and room facilities. The concierge was very helpful.

What the hotel could do better:

The light sensor in the gym is only sensitive for one part of the room. If you're running for longer than 25 minutes, the light goes off in the entire gym and if you do not wish to get off the machine, you will have to complete the run/treadmill exercise in the dark.

Hotel Description

It’s increasingly rare in the heart of London to find a hotel whose ambitions are anything short of transcendent, stratospheric luxury. In the more realistic middle of the market, it’s something of a numbers game — a good hotel has to maximize comfort, style and location while keeping the nightly rate under control. Now we’re no mathematicians, but something about Apex Temple Court doesn’t quite add up — and we mean that in the best possible way.

The location, on Fleet Street midway between Aldwych and St. Paul’s, could hardly be more central, though the fact that it’s in Temple, near the law courts, makes it a surprisingly quiet location. (It’s also technically in the City, by a hair.) And while the lobby sets something of a futuristic tone, and the courtyard lends a theatrical edge, the rooms are pleasingly sedate, their minimalistic look livened by vibrant prints and saturated colors. Higher up, you just might catch an unusual view of the surrounding rooftops.

There’s a Club Lounge set aside for guests who book the higher-end room categories, and there’s a small gym for everyone’s use — and the Chambers Bar & Restaurant, of course, is open to the public. Simply put, the Apex Temple Court is a smart-looking, well-serviced, sensibly priced option for Central London business and pleasure — and that, in itself, is increasingly worthy of note.
